SignicatID is an internationally available document-signing method that lets you create a signing certificate remotely. This method is particularly useful when a local eID is unavailable or cannot be obtained immediately.

Requirements
  • PDF document to sign
  • SignicatID enabled in the document settings
  • Valid passport (for some citizens, an ID card is also accepted)

Countries in bold:
Can sign documents using SignicatID from either a self-registered Dokobit account or an accountless signing window.

All other countries:
Can sign documents using SignicatID through an accountless signing window only.

 

How to use SignicatID


When signing a document with SignicatID for the first time, users must complete a one-time video onboarding process. This process creates their SignicatID signing certificate, which is valid for two years, unless the personal ID associated with the certificate expires earlier.

Once the certificate has been created, users do not need to repeat the video onboarding process when signing other documents, as long as the certificate remains valid.
 

Instructions for first-time SignicatID users

Choose the option that applies to you:

Registered user

Accountless signer

Users with a Dokobit account can upload documents, sign them with SignicatID, and request SignicatID signatures from others.

 

To get started:

  1. Purchase a paid plan subscription to unlock access to SignicatID: How to purchase a subscription.
  2. Upload a document and enable SignicatID as a signing method in the document settings: How to enable or disable e-signing methods.
  3. Complete the SignicatID video onboarding to create your signing certificate: SignicatID: How to create a signing certificate.

Users who don't have a Dokobit account can sign documents with SignicatID when a registered user sends them an accountless signing invitation by email.

    Follow these instructions to sign a document with SignicatID without repeating the video onboarding process.
  • Revoke your certificate: SignicatID: How to revoke a signing certificate
    If you've forgotten your signing password, changed your identity document, or changed your phone number since you last signed, you need to revoke your certificate.
